Professional summary for your resume: examples and how to write it
The professional summary is the first thing a recruiter reads. In 3–4 lines it should answer: who you are, what experience you have and what you can bring to the role.
The formula that works
Role or profession + years of experience + 1–2 achievements or strengths + what you're looking for. Tailor it to each job using words from the ad.
Examples to adapt
- ›“Accountant with 5 years in financial closings, cut errors by 20%. Seeking a senior analyst role.”
- ›“Graphic designer passionate about brand and detail, with a portfolio in branding and social media.”
- ›“Recent business graduate, organized and proactive, seeking my first opportunity in management.”
Mistakes to avoid
Avoid empty phrases like “responsible and hard-working person” with no proof. Prefer concrete data and achievements. With Tu Currículo you can write your summary and, on the Pro plan, tailor it to each job with AI help.
